ALL WEATHER SERIES: WINDY by Ptr. Jay-R Ramirez (Victory Caloocan)

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  —Philippians 3:12-14, NIV

We all go through frustrations, oppositions and resistance in life.

The response of majority: "I QUIT!"
It may be because of:
-The PULL OF YESTERDAY

-The PUSH OF TODAY
-The REMOTENESS OF TOMORROW

3 QUESTIONS THAT WARRANT AN ANSWER:
I. What is the GOAL?
-
Philippians 3:8,10

-Knowing Christ is the GOAL
-The word "knowing" here is NOT just about factual knowledge, but intimate relationship. (see Genesis 4:1)
-Moses (Exodus 33:11)

-Every situation is a potential "Burning Bush" experience

II. What do I do?
-"I press on... Pursue... Focus..."

-"Christ Jesus took hold of me"
-Whatever the opposition, Jesus is holding on. This is our hope, so don't you quit!

III. How do I do it?
-"Forgetting what is behind."
-
LEAVING Behind, not living behind.
-"Straining forward" (Hebrews 12:1-3)
-
What makes a champion? OVERCOMING OPPOSITION

-Philippians 3:16
-Catch the wind. Live the wind to soar high!
-Philippians 1:6
